Ham and Cheese Puff Pastry Pockets: A Quick and Tasty Snack!
Ingredients:
1 sheet puff pastry (about 250 g), thawed
150 g (5 oz) ham, thinly sliced or diced
150 g (5 oz) cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or Gruyère), grated
1 large egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions:
Prepare the pastry: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a floured surface. Cut it into squares or rectangles, depending on your desired size for the pockets.
Add the filling: Place a slice or two of ham and a generous amount of grated cheese on one half of each pastry square, leaving a border around the edges.
Seal the pockets: Fold the pastry over the filling to form a pocket. Press the edges together firmly with a fork to seal.
Egg wash: Brush the tops of the pastry pockets with the beaten egg to give them a golden color when baked.
Bake: Place the pockets on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the pastry is golden and puffed up.
Serve: Let them cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!
These crispy, cheesy pockets are the perfect snack for any time of the day! 😋
