1 1/2 tsp cornstarch

3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar

Step by Step Instructions
Whisk flour, baking soda, cornstarch, and salt in bowl. Set aside.
Cream butter and both sugars in large bowl until light and fluffy (3 minutes).
Add eggs one at time, beating well after each addition.
Mix in vanilla extract.
Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients on low speed until just combined.
Fold in chocolate chips and optional nuts with spatula.
Cover dough and refrigerate for 1 hour minimum (up to 72 hours).
