Yorkshire Puddings – A Classic British Comfort
I grew up eating these in the UK, and I still don’t understand why they’re not everywhere—they’re golden, airy, and absolutely irresistible. Crisp on the outside, soft in the middle, and perfect with gravy or even on their own. This recipe is super easy to follow and perfect for first-timers.
Ingredients
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup milk
3 large eggs
½ teaspoon salt
Vegetable oil or beef drippings (for the pan)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 220°C (425°F) and place a muffin tin inside with a little oil in each cup to heat.
Whisk flour and salt, then add eggs and milk, whisking until smooth. Rest batter 15–20 minutes if possible.
Carefully remove hot tin, pour batter halfway into each cup.
Bake 20–25 minutes without opening the oven until puffed and deeply golden.
Serve immediately for best rise and crispness.
