Chicago Spaghetti

Ingrédients

1 pound spaghetti

  • 1 pound Italian sausage (or meatballs)
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup grated mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Cook spaghetti according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, cook Italian sausage over medium-high heat until browned, breaking it into pieces as it cooks.
  3. Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and cook until the onion is translucent.
  4. Stir in marinara sauce and bring to a simmer. Reduce heat to low.
  5. Combine cooked spaghetti and sauce mixture. Toss to coat the spaghetti evenly.
  6. Transfer the spaghetti to a serving dish, top with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley if desired.
