Ingredients:
2 pounds ground beef
1 large onion, chopped
1 green bell pepper, diced
1 celery stalk, diced
1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes
2 cups beef broth
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 teaspoon cumin
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
Cook the Ground Beef:
In a large pot, cook the ground beef over medium heat, breaking it up as it cooks. Stir until the beef is fully browned and no longer pink. Drain any excess fat.
Sauté the Vegetables:
Add the chopped onion, diced green bell pepper, and diced celery to the pot. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the vegetables are tender.
Add the Beans and Tomatoes:
Stir in the kidney beans and diced tomatoes, along with their juices. Mix well.
Season the Chili:
Add the beef broth, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine, and bring the chili to a simmer.
Simmer the Chili:
Reduce the heat to low and let the chili simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. The chili will thicken and the flavors will meld together.
Serve:
Once the chili has finished simmering, taste and adjust the seasoning as needed. Serve hot with your favorite toppings, such as sour cream, shredded cheese, or chopped green onions.
